You might consider a trunk mounted rack. Typically, I'm not a big fan of those but with the very limited hitch option that's gonna even more limit your options for hitch mounted bike racks because the class one hitches just don't have great weight ratings. more

Today on our 2017 Toyota Corolla we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack, part number S64650. As you can see we already have our bike securely mounted on here. You have one attachment point, and that's going to be right across the frame. Now it is coated in rubber so you don't have to worry about any scratches or abrasions. To take the bike off simply lift up on the hooks. Now I do want to point out right here that the bike is fairly close to the vehicle, so when loading and unloading your bike make sure to be careful. more

Today on our 2017 Toyota Corolla, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Two-Bike Platform Rack, part number NV12G. Now, one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that it does tilt away without having to remove your bike. As you can see, we still have plenty of room to get anything in or out of trunk from either side. To put the back back in position, simply lift up. It'll lock right into place. Now, you're going to have two points of contact just to keep your bike secure. You're going to have a front hook here on the front wheel, and then on the back, you're going to have a strap to keep your bike secure. To remove the bike, simply push in on the lever and pull the strap out. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota Corolla, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Vertex. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack. They designed it for use with 2-inch hitches and also 1-1/4 inch as we've got today with the class I. Part number is TH9029XT. Now, keep in mind when using the class I hitch, you're going to limit your capacity down to 2 bikes. Class II, class III, we can go to a full 4, but with this having a class 1, we don't want to exceed that 2-bike limit. The Vertex is going to do a good job. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Corolla, we are going to be doing a test fit of the Yakima Full Tilt. This is a folding and tilting 4 bike rack. It has been designed for use with 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is Y02462. Now we are going to be using this in a 1 1/4 class 1 hitch, we will be limiting the capacity just to 2 bike, keep that in mind. To begin our test fit, we are going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. It is a good idea to just keep your thumb on that small silver anti rattle device to aid that in and we'll push it in until the small silver pin appears on our hitch pin hole. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Corolla, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Titan. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack. It's been designed for use with 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is S63410. We're using a class one hitch today, so that will limit the capacity, we're able to hold just the two bikes, so please keep that in mind. To begin our test fit, we slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As you can see, we've got a threaded hole here, need to line that up with our hitch pin hole. more

Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. You'll line up your pin holes and insert the pin already on the Thule bike rack. Tighten the knob to secure the pin and engage the anti rattle device. With the rack now on the car, the ground clearance is about 13 1/2 inches. The closest point to the vehicle is about 2 inches and the overall measurement added to the back of the Corolla is about 18 inches. more

Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. Line up your pinholes, thread in the entire rattle bolt, and tighten it up with a quick turn of the wrench. Be sure to insert the counter pin on the other side of the hitch. Now that we have the rack installed, you'll see that there's a ground clearance of about ten inches. The closest point from the rack to the back of the car is about four inches, and the overall addition to the back of the Corolla is about ten inches. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Corolla, we'll be test filling the Thule Apex 4 Bike Rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches. Part number TH9025. Be sure to note that you should only carry 1 or 2 bikes on this rack for a class 1 hitch. Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. Line up your pin holes and insert the already attached pin. Tighten the knob to secure the pin and engage the anti-rattle device. You'll notice that your ground clearance is about 10 1/2 inches. The closest point to the rack from the back of the car is about 2 inches and the overall added amount to the back of the car is about 13 inches. The Thule Apex allows for access to the trunk and if that's not enough space, you can tilt the carrier back by folding the gray lever at the bottom of the mask. By pulling the gray lever at the top of the mask, you can open the cradle arms. more

You will get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. Line up your pinholes and thread in the anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. Install the lock on the other side. Once the rack is on the car, you'll notice that the ground clearance is about 13 inches. The closest point from the back of the car to the bike rack is 8 inches, and the overall length added to the back of the Corolla is about 24 inches. Next, you'll just pull the pins to open up the platform of the rack. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Corolla, were going to be testing the SportRack 3 bike rack for 1 and a quarter and 2 inch hitches, part number SR2403. Please keep in mind, for class 1 hitch, you should use no more than 2 bikes on your rack. Lets get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver, line up your pin holes and thread in the anti-rattle bolt and tighten it up with a quick turn of the wrench. Now that the rack is in place, youll notice that the ground clearance is about 9 and a half inches. The closest point from the back of the car to the rack is about 5 inches and the overall length added to the back of our Corolla is about 12 inches. Theres no doubt, you can open up the trunk with this bike rack and if thats not enough room, just pull the pin at the bottom of the mast and tilt the rack back, allowing you maximum access to the back of the Corolla. By removing the pin at the top of the mast, you can bring out the cradle arms of our rack. Youll see it adds about 32 inches to the overall length of the Corolla. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Corolla we'll be test-fitting the Swagman Titan 4 Bike rack for for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches. Part #S63410. Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. We will line up the pin holes and thread in the anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it with a wrench. Once the hitch is on the car, you'll notice that the ground clearance is about 13-1/2", the closest distance between the car and the bike rack is about 6" and the overall length is about 21". There's plenty of room here to open up the trunk and it's that's not enough, this rack also tilts back to allow even more access to your trunk. By pulling the lever at the top of the mast, you can swing out the cradle arms. With cradle arms out, the length of the car has been extended by about 41". Next, we'll undo the cradle straps. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Corolla well be test fitting the Sportrack two bike carrier, part number A30901. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Now well go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. Theres about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about four inches. Weve added about 21 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2011 Toyota Corolla well be test fitting part #: th9025, the Thule Apex 4 bike carrier for both inch and quarter and 2 inch hitches. This bike rack is capable of being used in a class 1 hitch, however, if using in a class 1 hitch you are limited to only 2 bikes. To begin our test fit well install the bike rack shank into the hitch, well pull the integrated locking hitch pin and while our shank is sliding into the hitch, the pin will engage the hitch pinhole. With the hitch pin secured, we can go ahead and tighten down our anti-rattle knob securing the bike rack to the vehicle. And now we can give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance with this bike rack is 11 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 5 inches. more

Today on this 2011 Toyota Corola were going to do a test fit of part number th990xt from Thule the Doubltrack Platfrom 2 Bike bike rack. One quick note about this bike rack is it will work with 1-14 receiver hitches both class one and class two, and also will work with the 2 receiver hitch with the provided adapter. In this application we will actually be using a class one hitch. We will start off by installing the hitch into the bike rack, well tighten down the anti rattle bolt, and put the lock on the other side. Now Thule does provide a tool to tighten down the bolt, however our wrench will work just as well. Alright next we will give you some measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the vehicle and the ground. more
